Ya Allah, please grant me the strength.. and understanding.. I change my emotion every second.. At one point during ward round, I feel like crying and punching somebody.. Not long to go now !

p/s : Need to plan something exciting for my post exam week off ! Told mama that maybe we can meet halfway ? But I don't think that's going to happen ! and nobody is coming to visit me anyway ! Told along about it and she said adlina has school ! haish..

Blaming the stress

My skin has gone from bad to worse... it's dry and at the same time spots coming out every other day.. and the tone is awful.. and because i'm still a student, I'm not really spending that much money on skincare.. haha.. tunggu la dah qualify nanti baru la nak belanja kot..

And weight gain.. this doesn't help when u don't walk as much because u live 5 minutes away from the wards.. so, less walking and less exercise.. my gym membership expired end of Dec and didn't bother to renew it as I am away for placement.. So, hello FAT !!! not that I was skinny or something, but healthier !!

Blaming the stress for all these.. hopefully will go away after finals.. haha.. 5 more weeks to finals !

It's so close but yet so far

Allah.. It's about 5 weeks to finals.. There are days when I just can't be bothered anymore and wishes that it's over.. and DONE ! but we all know that I am not ready.. and most probably will never ever be ready !

And I'm PMSing.. There are days when I just feel like crying my heart out.. And wishes that there's somebody here to give me a hug and tell me everything is going to be fine.. It's so tiring when u still have to go in everyday at 8am and still yet finishes late even though you have finals in about a month time.. The timetable is full with endless ward rounds, ward work and teaching ! Could hardly find anytime to breath.. and there were times when I was about to lose my patience and wanted to slap somebody.. Even the consultant who could not stop talking in teaching :(((

I know I am not working as hard as I should be.. But I don't know why I'm so tired all the time !!!!! Ya Allah, please help me.. Give me the strength..

p/s : Finished the 3 LEAs for surgery and hopefully will get signed off by Friday.. and next week will be starting Medicine !

We went out for lunch on NYE.. And Nana and I spent the evening at home watching Pretty Woman and You've Got Mail.. Classic :)

It's 2012, and insyaAllah it will be a big year for me.. In 2 months time I will be sitting for one of the biggest exam in my life.. and InsyaAllah I will become a doctor by July..

Please please please pray for me ! And I hope that I will become a better person.. Hoping that 2012 will be better than 2011 in all aspects.. Ameen..

Don't ask me what my resolutions are ? Because I'm afraid to tell anybody.. As long as I keep on improving everyday, I am grateful enough.. I am surrounded by a loving family and friends.. I am blessed with good health.. So, just be grateful everyday.. This is a reminder for myself and others as well.. :)

We played picture millionaire last night. After 2 days of shopping, we decided maybe its time to start earning some money back (kidding). So, while we were playing, the girls said I know quite a lot compared to them. (Wink wink). But then, their justification is, I am about 2 years older than them. So, they said 'you dah banyak makan garam dari ktorg'.
Lepas tu sume gelak guling2. Used kabi as my talian hayat for one of the questions and he got it wrong ! Haha.

This year, we decided to do a small dinner in the house as the girls suggested we do secret santa..And we had our celebration the weekend before Meena went home for the holidays.. We (I mean mostly me) cooked chicken roast, lamb roast, roast potatoes with carrots and parsnips, yorkshire puddings and some vegetables..

Winter wonderland

This took place weeks ago.. But just decided to post it now since I'm quite free at the moment.. Just finished GP and submitted my portfolio :)

We went to GBK for dinner, and then walked in town to enjoy the lights before heading off to winter wonderland. We didn't skate but decided to go on the ride instead.. Did scream for the first 2 minutes but then enjoyed the breathtaking view of Cardiff after that..

There's quite a lot of stuff to talk about.. Fact of the day that I have learned today is, Monmouth is considered as one of the most posh town in the Wales or maybe UK ! hehe.. No wonder la.. The houses are big and nice... And org shopping makanan kat waitrose or marks and spencer ! Tu la kedai diaorg.. everyday, saya lunch makan food from these 2 shops ! kering poket kot !

Ok la.. need to get back to my portfolio.. dah buat all 5 compulsory LEAs and PLP.. But rasa nak buat satu extra just in case I need them.. :)

I really need to update my blog.. and maybe take some pictures of Monmouth.. but I just couldn't be bothered.. I prefer to spend my time in the bed.. I don't know why.. Maybe I'm just lazy in general..

There's a lot to talk about.. but then, sometimes I just feel that maybe I shouldn't say it here.. Not many people will understand and they might say I'm being childish.. or whatever it is..

Overall, I am coping in Monmouth.. Taking it day by day.. Looking fwd to weekends all the time as I will be back in Cardiff then.. It's not as easy as some people might think it is.. but then, I am trying my best here..

I'm down with cold yet AGAIN ! It's the 2nd time in 3 months.. this time around it started with horrible sore throat and temp every morning that resolves after taking paracetamol :(

So, there might be 2 causes : from Nana who has been ill for the past week or from the patients that I saw in GP. Hurm..

It makes me feel exhausted ! I just want to go back to Cardiff and sleep whenever I want.. Doing GP is not helping as I start at 8.30am and finishes at 6.30pm..

So, came back to Cardiff yesterday.. such a long journey.. took a bus from Monmouth for about an hour.. The road was quite bad.. so, felt a bit sick after the journey.. And then, walked from Newport bus station to the train station, took the train home..

It was good to be back to my small but comfy room.. and cooked nasi beriyani yesterday with chicken curry :))))

Started MMIC placement last Monday after a week of lectures/workshops.. Arrived in Monmouth on Monday morning.. And then was taken to the GP's house at lunch time.. So, here's my room for the next 6 1/2 weeks.. not really full 6 1/2 weeks because will be going back to CF on most weekends !

Quite basic room.. no study table.. So, have to work on my bed.. and when I start working on the bed it basically means zzzzzzzz... Sharing the bathroom with the nanny..

Overall, I'm still feeling a bit odd... Staying with random family is quite difficult.. People can just easily say that I should just grow up and deal with it.. But it's a big thing for me.. Was basically in tears on Monday.. but things get better.. starting to get into a routine.. and have to compromise a lot.. hehe.. And because I'm quite shy to ask for anything, so, I don't have breakfasts.. Starting next week, I will buy cereal bars or something and keep it for breakfast..

Have dinner with the family.. but then, I just feel weird ! Don't know how to behave ect.. I don't know.. maybe I should just slap myself.. !

To be honest, this post can be very very very long.. but I might have to stop here.. will keep on updating it.. as I have no friends to talk to, so blog might be the next option..

I presented my SCP today..

Obviously I didn't win the prize. But, it was a good experience.

But I want think I want to stress here, the presentation was optional. I didn't want to do it in the first place but my tutor suggested that I should. However, some people out there should know that it took a lot of courage for people like us to do it in front of consultant and other students.

People like us here I meant by students studying abroad as English is not the first language. Because trying to present in English is quite hard and you can feel that you tongue was twisting when you tried to squeeze every single information into 10 minutes worth of presentation.

It's fine if you have to present in front of other fellow Malaysians as we would have had similar background. But it can be very intimidating when you have to speak in front of people who didn't even have to practise theirs speech.

I had to spend 2 days to kind of like memorize my text.. and Alhamdulillah it went well.. but then, answering questions were tough especially when people started to criticise your work..Or for me, my baby.. I have been treating my project like a baby I supposed.. :)

It's done now.. And will finalise my write up tomorrow... deadline is on Friday but I just want to submit it tomorrow and get it done with..

Cooking skills

Since I came to the UK, my cooking skill has improved tremendously.. not to mention other skills la obviously.. Alhamdulillah..

And since I moved into Malefant Street, the girls have been requesting lots of food.. Not only I can cook now, but can also cook for a big group..

Yesterday, a friend invited us to their potluck housewarming.. so, we decided to make ayam masak merah and nasi minyak.. waalllaaaaa ! A chicken and a half worth of ayam masak merah.. Now, I'm drooling for more.. Because obviously, tak de la pulun makan dekat rumah org.. hehe

The day before I made a whole periuk of kuey teow gorang for Lauren as she requested for it.. Haish.. I was really good during the week trying to have healthy diet... and exercise because I want to lose weight so badly.. Susah betul la nak kurus mcm ni.. :(

Now, they want nasi lemak !!!! Help me !

Writing up..

Final phase...

Alhamdulillah, manage to get 25 people to try out my module.. So, it's writing up the report now..

Only 3500.. but still, nak botak kepala dah ni.. But then, kalau type blog ke ape ke, 3500 tu kejap je kot boleh.. Nak type project, terkial2.. But then, usually the hardest part is starting it.. Once u have started, it's way better than u expected.. haha...

Will have to try and finish my 1st draft by Wednesday.. and then prepare a 10 minutes presentation using powerpoint.. Did I say earlier that insyaAllah I will be taking part in the Child Health SCP prize competition. My tutor yang mcm beriya2 suro.. kalau ikut diri sendiri tak nak.. But then, dia ckp nothing to lose.. :(

So, now will have to prepare my slides (basically the report) for 10 mins presentation.. and then prepare myself to answer questions (5 minutes Q&A session).. Kalau menang, iA dpt 100 pounds.. muahaha.. but then, kalau kalah pun, at least dpt presentation skills..

Will be meeting my tutor on Thursday to go through the slides.. To practise it and stuff..

PLEASE PRAY FOR ME.. :) Presentation will be on Wednesday 26th Oct.. And then, have to submit the final write up on 28 Oct before 4pm..

A friend of mine said to me "You seem to have everything sorted now"

At the moment, my answer is Alhamdulillah.. Since I'm not applying for jobs in the UK, I have less thing to worry about.. Elective is sorted (just need to buy the flight tickets)... And project insyaAllah sorted as well.. so, the only thing that I need to focus on now is to PASS FINALS !!

InsyaAllah will be able to focus on revision after this.. Ameen...

Phew... Alhamdulillah the tricky part is over ! Now I am at the stage of recruiting volunteers...

And guess what, surprisingly, recruiting people to help out with your project is harder than you think it is.. Unless kalau diaorg dibayar utk spend their time take part in the study..

I e-mailed la both 5th and 4th years.. So, out of 600+ people, yang reply cuma 6 org je.. yg lain tu, I have to text my friends merayu mintak tlg.. how difficult is that ? So far baru dpt 10 org.. And I'm hoping a minimum number of 20 ke.. Tu pun susah.. :(

So, dah penat membebel pasal project.. Skang nak la cte, apa la project yg dok buat ni.. :P

I'm creating a virtual patient/e-learning nye module for 4th year nye paeds syllabus..

And I finished drafting the patient together with the learning needs la... including notes, suggestions and guidelines sume..

We have 8 weeks for SCP, and i'm currently in the end of my 5th week.. patutnye, plan by next week, module tu dah siap and leh upload utk students lain guna and at the same time buat survey for my write up.. Tp, byk betul la halangan..

Mula2, tutor cuti 3 minggu.. lepas tu, when I was in the process nak buat draft, demam plak.. and then, last Wed dah siapkan 18 pages worth of draft, and e-mail kat tutor, dia plak tak reply2 smpai semlm.. and just found out the IT guy yg sepatutnye transfer my draft from word document into the programme yg ade tu, cuti plak smpai last Wed...

Hari rabu, jumpa la advisor lain (my personal tutor) and dia pun baca la draft tu and bg komen.. and edit sume blk, and e-mailed the latest version to my tutor/SV..

And this morning, ada sorang prof ni plak e-mail bg feedback.. tukar lagi.. and then, IT dept ckp diaorg sgt2 busy and maybe tak leh siapkan my module on time for me to get other students to use it and give feedback..

So, nak buat write up mcm mane ??? TELL ME PLEASE !!

Mmg stress sgt2.. and rasa nak nangis.. Skang ni draft patient dah siap, but in word document la..

Mmg panic la.. tiap2 malam tak leh tdo kot pikir project ni..

Went to my last ever student lock-in.. Why last ? Because I'm in my final year, so will insyaAllah student no more by October next year... and insyaAllah, I am going back home for good in July..

But here I am.. still doing medicine... my housemates said "You have survived 4 years, another year won't kill u, and u'll be fine!"

I don't know.. but what I can say is that maybe the tolerance level has decreased since 4 years ago.. maybe the motivation is not as high anymore.. or maybe because I'm just homesick...

My main problem is that byk je tudung yang tak pakai and tak de matching baju pun.. but always rasa ada attitude "just in case" ! Kot2 la beli baju baru ker.. or anything like that.. nanti terkial nak cr tudung kan.. hehehe...

Sorry for the lack of updates.. Obviously I was home for a month.. and decided that there's no point of updating it as the reason why I have a blog is for my family.. and there were in front of me for 4 weeks.. So, instead of blogging, I decided to spend my time doing something else.. :)

Phew...

Berharap sgt the day will get better.. After an amazing day in weekend, I would consider today as quite eventful.. Had clinic in the morning.. and then theatre.. Sangat la lama dok berdiri sampai nak patah pinggang.. and then kena grill mcm tak hengat.. mmg rasa BODOH gle smpai nak nangis.. serius boleh rasa mata nak berair.. Sebab my friend scrubbed in... So, diri sendiri jadi terkapai.. Rasa mcm org bodoh gle.. I was like, serious ke aku ni nak grad next year !!!!!

And then, I did ask some people for a lift to go home.. But then, sebab theatre tu abis lmbt, mcm terpaksa la mintak kebenaran nak kuar awal sebab takut kena tinggal.. berlari2 la ke common room smpai nak pengsan..

Bila balik je rumah, terus solat and amik beg nak g beli brg kat kedai sebab weekend aritu tak de kat Cardiff nak wat food shopping.. Lepas tu, payung pulak dah tewas di London.. Skang plak tgh hujan memanjang.. berjalan smpai Sainsbury utk beli payung murah just for the next few days kalo nak hancur pun... Lepas tu, berjalan la balik... Then, the big event came up... sorang laki kulit hitam datang dekat2.. mula2 dia ckp sket2.. pastu dia mula rapat... and then, ingat nak amik jalan pintas balik rumah.. tgk2 dia ikut lagi.. I stopped, he stopped as well.. So, i decided to stay on Crwys Road and kept on walking really fast.. and mamat ni dok tanya mcm2 lagi... jantung mmg mcm nak tercabut dah sebab cuak nye pasal... then, terus jalan masuk cafe, but he stopped me and said, "Can I follow u ?" Terus ckp NO.. Masuk je cafe, bgtau kat mamat cafe tu kata laki ni ikut.. Laki tu mmg masuk cafe... terus kena halau dgn mamat cafe tu.. Phew... Nasib baik penah pegi cafe tu, so, the owner tu mcm dah kenal la.. haish... mmg cuak tak hengat... And then, the cafe guy suro duduk kat cafe dia smpai dia sure laki tu blah.. laki tu tunggu kat luar kot.. so, I rang lauren suro dtg amik.. and the cafe owner ckp dia leh suro staff dia walk me home.. But I said it's fine.. Serious CUAKS !!!!

And then, balik rumah, nak masak dinner, tp dah lmbt.. so, masukkan je mknan dlm oven.. then I dropped it in the oven.. tgh panas2 tu kena try kutip.. haish.... ape la nasib ku hari ni...

Now have to go and try to finish of my LEAs... :(

Ola.. I am now officially in Malefant Street... And I thought that I won't be able to update or use the internet at all for the next few days... until Wednesday.. but then, a friend of mine suggested that I use my blackberry as a modem.. and it works.. as long as I don't exceed 500MB.. owh well.. ;)

So, I have finished unpacking yesterday.. and did some bits and bobs today.. so, here are the pictures of my new room.. Smaller than before, but I don't really mind..

Forgot to take the photo of my chest of drawers.. but can't be bothered.. hehe.. Will need to go and do a massive food shopping tomorrow..

And will be starting surgery placement on Monday.. for 3 weeks.. I got GI team.. yewwww.... tak suka..

After few hours advertising on freecycle.com...

Got a few e-mails from people who are interested... So, yeay for me ! A lady will come and pick up my table tomorrow evening.. and then, a couple will come on Saturday to take my shelf.. They said, they want it for their daughter's room..

What is freecycle ? Basically, it's a website where people advertise things that they don't want anymore and recycle it by giving it away to people who wants it.. So, better for the environment la kan ? hehe..

Some people said, nape tak jual je ? Well, I don't care about the money.. Just want to get rid of it really.. lgpun beli nye tak seberapa pun.. and dah pakai 3 thn.. bg je la kat org.. hehe...

I'm stressed ! Need to get rid of soom furniture.. So, have been trying to get the british heart foundation people to come and take it.. But then, can't find a suitable time for them to come as they don't do collections on weekends..

Started at 8.00 am this morning (left the house at 7.20am)... and then finished trauma teaching at 5.40pm.. so, got back after 6.00... Just want a friend to give me a hug... and watch tv together.. or do something other than medicine..

p/s : I'm 23, will be 24 soon... and I hate being treated like a child.. or like a school kid... Come on la... Doctors were students once..

I'm loving it.. Have to write this down before I totally forgot about today.. I'm feeling so high.. over the moon.. can't stop smiling !!!!

Started acute care module yesterday.. Every morning, we'll go to theatre for some anaesthetic experience... OMG !!! Feels like screaming..

This morning, I was supposed to be with this scary lady anaesthetist.. But then, Dr. R came to OT 3 and just asked me to follow him, leaving my partner behind.. I was thinking, why me ? have I done anything wrong ? but then, apparently, he had no student with him.. And I had the most productive day today ! YEAY ! Senyum sampai telinga !!

So, firstly, he asked me to mix some drugs ! I was a bit shocked and lost la at that time.. And then, he asked me to do it step by step.. So, wallaaa.... I got the co-amoxiclav ready for the IV injection.. And then, he asked me whether I have done venflons or not before, and dgn malu2 kucingnya, I said yes... So, he asked me to do the venflon on that patient.. Mmg time ni muka pucat gila sebab tgh panic and mcm shocked to the system.. tak expect nak wat ape2 pun ari ni.. Had to insert a green venflon.. quite big.. sebelum ni penah buat pink and blue je... And yeay ! I got it in...

And then he asked me whether I have intubated a patient before... And cuak gle time tu.. And I said only on dummies... and guess what he said ? "It's your lucky day as the patient has no front teeth".. I was like, what ???? Yes.. Sebab kalo tak de gigi depan kurang la risk nak hancurkan gigi patient.. kalo ade gigi consultant lg prefer buat sendiri...

And then, after dia dah inject propofol... he asked me to insert the oropharyngeal airway...

And then had to bg oxygen to the patient guna mask... just realised how difficult it is to hold the mask and did jaw trust and head tilt.. Mmg sakit tgn smpai terketar but buat2 berani and asik ckp I'm fine dekat consultant.. haha... Mmg menggunakan biceps and triceps.. First few minutes, he kept on saying, u got leakage there.. Sampai dah O2 sats naik 100% baru rasa lega sket.. Lepas tu, came the big thing, intubate !! And I did it.. yeay ! but obviously consultant was there and if I did not do it properly, he would take over la kan..

For the 2nd patient, I mixed the drugs jugak.. Antibiotics je la pun.. And then, he asked me to do the venflon eventho it's a difficult one.. Sebab veins dia agak fragile and kecik2.. And said, i'm only allowed one chance and kalo tak lepas, dia akan buat sendiri.. So, i tried using a pink one which is smaller.. and yeay, it's in... So, senyum smpai telinga la sebab dpt pujian... And this patient got spinal and bukan GA, so tgk je la.. And then, lepas tu, he taught me on how to do spinal and epidural... membazir harta NHS sebab byk gle needles and pack yg dia bukak utk ajar... Tried buat epidural dekat the consultant's hand as an imagination of the back.. don't worry.. didn't actually stab him...

It was a good day indeed and mmg high gle skang ni.. rasa nak buat anaesthetic pulak.. and it's my rezeki that he asked me to follow him sebab my partner had an awful day... :( But I have this feeling that it will all change from tommorow and I will end up having horrible days.. haha...

Muka pucat and panic gle the whole day because was given too much responsibility... So, kept on being asked whether I'm going to faint or not.. haha.. sah2 la tak.. setakat ni tak penah lg la pengsan dlm OT.. but then, sapa tak panic ble kena buat benda2 yg tak penah buat on the patient.. And then waktu I had to bag the patient, he kept on saying, u are breathing for the patient now.. so, do it properly..

And apparently, students are not covered for some procedures contohnya intubate and I was technically doing it without any insurance and tak covered... tu dia la ckp.. So, ape2 pun consultant la kena tanggungjawab...

Ok.. need to get back to reality... Mmg letih gila2.. hari2 start kul 8.. and then teaching kul 1 smpai 5... Mmg la hardcore gila..

Found out that I actually have everything that I need for a simple choc cuppies.... Did not have any sprinkles for deco and found some white choc chips instead.. So, waallaaaa..... Rezeki budak dekat Royal Glamorgan esok.. ;)

Dah abis choc powder and self raising flour.. kurang brg nak angkat pindah nanti.. hehe...

Congratulations to my dearest Along and Abg Shah for the the new baby.. She's so cute and geram la tgk !!! Making me missing home more and more... I wish I'm a billionaire and can fly home only for the weekend... :(

So... Finally it's the weekend !!!!!!! PHEW... It's been a tiring week.. I can talk here for ages but I know there are some people who just hate it and then will say something on facebook.. Hey miss, if u don't like something, then don't read my blog la ok ???

This week has been manic.. We start at 8.15 everyday and usually finishes by 4.30-5.. Having to travel for half an hour every morning and evening, making it worse... I'm not the one driving obviously.. but having to find lifts and begging for people to take me with them is tiring enough.. lol... But, so far it's still alright..

I started DSM (Diagnostic synthesis medicine) with Haematology for 2 weeks.. Serious rasa nak terjun bangunan ble dpt timetable.. APAKAH ? I just did haem like 2 months ago and this is not what I'm expecting.. Everybody else got general med teams like respiratory, cardiology, endocrine, gastro and acute med.. Those are what I wantes because I seriously need to refresh my memory.. We did general med in 3rd year and I think it's a bit rusty now.. And then our timetable is organised like the previous haem placement duirng MOSS.. which means we had to go to the lab !! ARGH !!! It's just not fair because this placement is supposed to polish our history, exam, and diagnostic skills as the preparation for foundation year... It's a final year placement mind you... And we also have to do a long list of skills which obviously I don't know where I'm going to find patients to do it on.. lol... Basically, my partner and I are hating it big time... We have decided that maybe next week, we are going to try and make our consultant understand this and allow us to go and find something else in MDU or A&E.. haha...

As usual, Cardiff Med School made our life more eventful by sending an e-mail on Monday saying that results will be published on Wednesday instead of Tuesday 14 June.. so, a week earlier... And causing us to panic... Came Wednesday morning we had teaching at 8.15.. Did I tell u that there's no coverage/signal in royal glam,... which means that i can't text or check anything on my phone (eventho I can get the internet on my phone.. So, obviously la pikiran tak tenang dlm teaching that morning.. Abis teaching, I went to library to check the pass list.. So, having to go through 300+ numbers to fine your number is scary... But alhamdulillah found it.. And the transcript came the next day which I'm just grateful about.. Alhamdulillah.. bersyukur sgt2...

And Friday morning, when I woke up for Subuh I got mama's text and Abg Shah's whatsapp regarding the new baby... Sincerely, I seriously thought that I will lose the excitement after Adlina and Ariff.. but I don't know why I'm still excited and can't wait to see this little girl who will obviously steal abah's attention and climb up his knees... Can't wait to go shopping and get something for baby A to wear maybe during raya.. hehe...

Ok.. need to go now before I start crying again because I'm missing home.. ngeh..

Home Alone..

The day is finally here...

After 3 years of living together, it's now come to an end.. Megan has moved out last Thursday.. But she will be back to do the final cleaning before end of this month..

While Jen will leave for Wrexham today.. She's all packed and will come back to move her boxes into storage in few weeks time...

And... I will be ALL BY MYSELF for the next 3 weeks.... Because my placement is in Royal Glamorgan, Llantrisant... And then, moi will move out as well into the new crib... but will be by herself as well till 27 JULY.. :(

I don't know how I'm feeling... Feels like crying but at the same time I feel empty inside... I don't know where this friendship will go.. I mean which direction... Katie will be in Bangor for a year to interclate, Jen is not getting a house and has asked for all her placements to be away (North Wales), Lizzie is staying at home (Porthcawl), Anna is staying at home (Monmouth), Nina at home as well (Bristol), Alice will be moving home (Bridgend)....

See... It's going to be a tough year... And I do admit that I HATE changes !!! I know it should be a good one... but I just don't like it... hurm... Keep on having sleepless nights..

At the same time, we are starting DSSM tomorrow.. Officially we have started 5th year last Thursday... The intro lectures were scary.. enough said.. It made me feel crap... There are so many things that need to be covered... and finals is in 9 months time... And they are piloting a gazzilion things for our year... Different portfolios and stuff... ARGH !!!

I'm still in my holiday mood and now will have to restart my brain.... :(

I made it a regular thing to give blood every 3-4 months...

So, started with an orange card for 1-4 times...

And then upgraded to 5-9.. The old system used to call it the green card.. but they changed it now and I did not get the green card but got the red/yellow card instead for 5-9... :))

Alhamdulillah.. We officially finished Final MB part 1 last week... Results will be out on 14th June..

And on Friday, we all were just too tired to do anything.. Didn't even feel the freedom.. I guess it's because we were just to tired after sleepless nights and back to back papers...

So, straight after exams, me and the Rhyl friends walked to town to get some frozen yogurt.. :)

And then, just walked around town aimlessly... Didn't have much plan for the rest of the week... Quite a lot of people planned their holidays ages ago.. Since we got about 2 weeks off... But I did not plan anything.. The reason behind it was I just did not have the energy to think about it.. Plus, I have spent quite a lot of money lately.. With the flight tickets for summer... Summer rent and deposit for the house, I decided that maybe I should not spend as much money...

So, on Sunday night, a friend suggested that we go to Bath.. ROAD TRIP !! So, Dena drove us to Bath.. Eventhough I have been there before, but this time around we went to different part of Bath..

Sentiasa rasa tak cukup masa.... since my OSCE is at 9.30, I will be held back at the centre until 12... And after that, straight back to revision for my written papers...

Finally... our audit is done...

Ruth submitted the audit online this morning... and I submitted the contribution form for the group...

I don't think I'll talk to any of the group members anymore after this except for a few... It's such a roller coster ride... but we did it in the end...

So, let's just wait for the marks.. hopefully it's enough to pass...

ER was one of the reason why I fell in love with this field...

And since 2nd year, I use ER as one of my revision tool... Hekhekhek.... Jen has her own collection of ER dvds... and Katie has the whole series except for season 15... So, every single year, we'll watch ER while revising.. I know it sounds like we are not properly revising.. but it is so tiring and we need some entertainment that is worth watching.. and ER does teach us lots of stuff.. We can start diagnosing patients on ER.. it's either we have watched it far too many times or we actually have the knowledge.. who knows ?

To be fair, I don't really remember the episodes word by word.. but I know the storyline.. which means I don't need to give 100% attention to the video playing and can just get on with my work...

At the same time, when I feel frustrated and wanted to give up, ER will boost my motivation back to normal.. because I can remind myself why I'm doing this... (Dr. Kovac) obviously... haha....

I won't be living with Jen next year.. and Katie is going to Bangor for interclating.. So, no more ER for me :(

Unless I decided to buy the box set... which will cause me about 75pounds... hekhekhek....

So, what did u do on the 29 April 2011 ???

It was a beautiful wedding.. Made me believe in fairy tale for a split second.. But then, it's reality...

We had a small BBQ... Just me and Jen.. Was too tired to plan anything big... I marinated my own chicken while Jen got some marinated ones from ASDA for herself...

Revising ENT.. got bored while doing some notes on sinusitis... So, decided to jot something down..

CAN I JUST CRY ? and hope that all my problems will go away ?

I'm so tired.... With exams in 3 weeks time, I'm anxious as well...

Last night went to bed really late because had to revise... and this morning woke up at 5.30 am because we were planning to leave Cardiff for Swansea at 6.45am...

And then, as soon as I got back here... Had about 45minutes break.. and got the taxi to Neath Port Talbot Hospital.. so, have been in all day today.. on neuro rehab ward..

Letih gle... and dengan revision yang mcm tak abis2... haish.. will i make it through ??

And paling stress sbb bertelagah dgn partner placement.. because clash of ideas.. konon... sebab dia malas nak masuk placement and nak ponteng... and trying to make me ponteng as well.. mmg nak cekik2 je rasa...

So, decided to take a few out and spent most evenings reading fiction book rather than medical books..

I smile from ear to ear when I checked my bank account today... duit claim nevil hall dah masuk... hahaha...

Tak byk pun... sbb placement kat nevil hall seminggu je.. but enough to make me smile..

And gaji kerja aritu pun dah masuk.. actually dah lama masuk... opsie.. did i not tell u I worked.. ceh.. but just for one day...

Keje kat med school (MEDWALES).. Ade event tu budak2 high school yg nak apply medicine.. buat mcm fair la.. so, I helped out at the clinical station.. dapat gaji based on hours... best la jugak...

Plus, mcm hargai duit tu sbb kerja kan..

But, duit2 tu akan digunakan untuk bayar summer rent.. :(

Sebab utk rumah baru ni, kena bayar summer rent in advanced.. before 1st of may.. kena bayar rent july and august... and september nanti baru diaorg start standing order... so, krenye kena kuarkan savings sendiri la utk rent summer... sbb elaun kan masuk ikut bulan...

Focus !! nak kena study.. bye..

Yelllooo..

I just feel like writing.. no specific topic.. just want to talk random stuffs...

I am back in Cardiff for the weekend.. but then it made me realise that I actually hate this house... Swansea seems better than Cardiff this weekend.. :(

I bet nobody will read this.. So, I don't mind talking about this in my blog...

I came back on Friday.. and the house looks like post-storm or post-tornado condition... mmg nak menjerit.. it's hot outside and masuk2 rumah je mcm tongkang pecah... stuffs everywhere on the floor... i don't mind people living in a mess.. but just leave it in your room.. not in communal area... dishes were not done.. kitchen mmg kotor.. and to make things worst, bin was not emptied.. after the whole week.. melimpah dah tong sampah tu... and the bins tak di kuarkan on tuesdays... so, tak dikutip la sampahnye..

So, being me who couldn't stand the messiness... I decided to start clearing up a bit.. and then rasa lapar... ingat nak makan toast.. bukak2 fridge tgk2 ade org abiskan my butter... this girl didn't tell me that dia guna my food... but as usual i know she does anyway... last weekend i found out that butter tu makin sikit.. so, dgn baik hatinya, I asked her and she said mmg dia guna sbb i am not there anyway... and dia ckp dia akan belikan yg baru.. and smpai Friday dia tak beli2 lg.. I don't know why I got soooooo annoyed...

And yesterday, I cleaned the whole house.. for the million times !! by myself.. and hurt my back a bit..

And another girl asked me why am I cleaning.. I said I just want to because I hate seeing the house in a mess since I won't be coming back for the next 2 weeks.,. And she said, we''ll do it soon.. And dalam hati mmg rasa.. bilenye diaorg nak buat....

I know everybody is busy.. BUT HOW CAN PEOPLE LIVE IN A MESSY PLACE ??? It's common sense kan.. kalo tong sampah penuh, kosongkan.. kalo barang tak nak, buang.. jgn tinggal atas lantai... mmg geram smpai nak nangis.. and I wanted to do laundry... and another issue plak timbul2.. last2 buat laundry gantung dlm bilik...

Maybe I can't take this anymore... but to be fair... no matter how busy you are, benda2 lain kena buat jugak... Sume org ade audit project nak kena siapkan.. sume org ade revision... sume org ade placement.. so, tak de isu timbul sape lg busy... and to be fair, ble dah kerja nanti, takan nak biarkan rumah bersepah tak bercuci.. anak2 tak makan... smpah tak buang ?? KAN ???

Ok2.. I think I should stop there... But I'm seriously tired.... Not much work done on the weekend.. selain buat write up audit sket.... and study obs and gynae sket... and will be going back to Swansea later this evening...

I'm currently NCOTE-ing in Swansea.. Morriston and Singleton Hospital...

Hurm.. Currently feeling low-ish.. Swansea is not as exciting.. We got meal card thus had to survive on canteen food.. Sgt2 tak sedap and nak muntah dah....

And in terms of NCOTE lak.. STRESSful seh.. Because we won't be tested on this module this year... but still have to work hard during this block.. The fact that we have an exam in 5 weeks time is stressing me out.. It's the final of 4th year exam.. and byk lg keje tak siap...

Unfortunately, the consultants here have high expectations... In terms of everything.. dgn cases presentations, write ups and medication review.. Plus they are being soooooooooooooooo picky.. Sgt2 la kecoh !!! mmg ktorg sume mcm dah nak breakdown semlm.. Because this is so tiring...

And ble penat, blk malam, tak leh revise utk exams sume.. I haven't done general medicine for a year... sebab this year byk buat specialised modules.. so, jarang la buat benda2 general.. but bila buat COTE ni, byk general med... mmg rasa gelabah sket.. dah byk lupa...

But i managed to do bloods alright... yeay !! and today during my stroke ward round, the consultant said my knowledge is quite good.. don't need an iphone with all the apps... cewah !!!

Ok.. need to go and do my slides for tomorrow's presentation.. :(

My head is killing me now...

I know what's wrong...

I'm weaning off my painkillers... I took cocodamol only twice yesterday... instead of 4.... And didn't take any today... so far la.. and my back hurts... my head is worse... and it's headache due to analgesia....

Kalo amik painkillers mcm codeine, mmg akan ade effect where your body becomes dependent... So, kalo stop mmg akan rasa pening la... Ala2 withdrawal... nasib baik blaja medic, so tau la sket2... Tahan je dulu takat ni.. malam kang amik la utk nak tdo..

p/s : i have finished packing for swansea.. beg besar tu berat seh.. ni abah la tak bg tukar beg aritu.. hehe.. kalo ade beg yg medium size tu tak la berat sgt...

tak tau camne nak angkat beg2 tu esok.. dgn pinggang ku yg sakit ni... haish..

Hectic week indeed....

Phew....

Eventho it's MOSS consolidation which is supposed to be less busy, it was a busy one for me.... :(

Had GP appointment on Monday after lectures.. Had to rush back from lectures to the surgery.. Dah la jalan terhencut2.... I seriously think my posture is bad... I'm putting pressure on one side of my body...

Then, after sleepless nights, I finally got to sleep for at least 5 hours by Tuesday... and it's getting better alhamdulillah.. Still painful but painkillers are helping..

And Tuesday, I did all the notes printing and had to rush to Tesco tu buy some more printing papers.. They ran out as well so I had to go to Staples... :(

And after that, I rushed to Julian Hodge to get my laptop registered with Cardiff Uni and install a eduroam for Swansea internet... And stayed there for like 3 hours and it didn't work... :( So, they suggested that I send it to the techinician the next day...

Eventho ada lectures kul 9, I rushed to Julian Hodge at 8.30 am.. drop my laptop and walked for luke 4o mins to the heath for lectures... Yes, I was late...

And after lectures, I walked all the way to Julian Hodge only to find out that she couldn't fix the problem and asked me to reformat it instead... WHAT ??? Agak geram , stress and sedih.. mmg menitis air mata gak because I was so tired... and then went to students union to sign the house contract..

And walked home.. Rang Kabi.. he came to the rescue.. He reformated my laptop and ect... and then that night Sanam invited us out for dinner.. to celebrate her birthday.. mmg malas gle nak pegi, but I did in the end...

Thursday and Friday, we had full days of neuro and care of the elderly lectures... And after lectures on Friday, I rushed back to Julian Hodge to reregister my laptop.. And still it didn't work.. this time around they said it's because they have some problem with the connection...

So, I rushed back there this morning to do it and same problem.. Their internet is still bad... :(

Mmg nak nangis air mata darah dah.. heh... so, now I will just have to take the risk.. Go to swansea and just hope that it will work there or I can try and get somebody to fix it there...

Now I have to pack my life into suitcases for Swansea.. and since exam is coming, I have to bring quite a lot of stuffs for revision as well.. STRESS !!!!!!!!

Nina texted me on thursday asking me to go out with her.. and i didnt because I was so tired... And since I'm not on Fb, i missed out the news.. she's now engaged... :))))

So, rugi la tak gi jumpa dia on Thursday because she wanted us to be the first to know.. heh.. but, i missed out the fun.. owh well.. The only time i'm not on fb, is when something big happened !!!

It's rough.. I'm so tired !! No energy to go to lectures at all..

Went to julian hodge yesterday to sort out my laptop for swansea's internet.. Need to register and install something.. Unfortunately, it didn't work.. And they asked me to come back this morning to drop my laptop for the technician to have a look..

And I said I have lectures.. So, they asked me to come at 8.30 am.. Went in, and the lady said.. "We are usually open at 9 am.. But because u are a doctor I'm giving u an exception.. We are usually nice to doctors" :)

I'm not a doctor yet.. But it makes me feel more motivated now !! Lol

P/s : I'm still having sleepless nights and still tired.. Need to get better before I go to swansea !!!!!

Hehe.. Went to tesco nak beli printing paper je pun.. And nampak beg ni.. Shopping bag yg hasil jualan dia utk charity.. So, mcm justify la kalo beli.. Hehe.. Over seh. Tp, mmg dah lama nak beli shopping bag mcm tu.. And dpt yg cntik ni puas hati la..

Now thinking that I should get that bag for people at home.. Tak yah beli benda lain utk summer dah.. Haha.. Satu rumah dpt satu.. Kl, as and bukit raja.. Nak dak ???

Nope.. Exam dtg lagi...

It hits me hard... That I will be starting my last block on Wednesday.. And then, after 5 weeks of NCOTE (Neuro and Care of the Elderly)... It's exam time again.... ARGH!!!

Will start with OSCE and then written papers... It's the time of the year when I feel like I don't want to do medicine anymore... Time of the year that makes me feel like a failure...

Thus, I have decided to give up facebook at the moment.. Just for a bit.. Because I think I spend too much time on fb sometimes.. And in order to limit it, I just need to not use it for a few days and then I won't realise it's presence anymore..

But knowing myself, I know I'll come back to fb when I'm bored... But I need to focus !!!!!!

Stress.. seminggu dah tak buat kerja sbb tak sehat...

Yes, GP gave me another lot of painkillers... I didn't tell him that I'm a medic, but he kind of found out from the way I told the history... ceh !!!!!! I took cocodamol 8/500 before this.. now he gave me 15/500... and naproxen to replace my ibuprofen.. and some PPI to help with stomach just because I'm talking painkillers...

He said, if it happens again, he'll refer me to physio because due to occupational reasons, he said I need to have a healthy back.... CEH !!!

p/s : Now everybody can be a GP.... bg je painkillers....
